Girl Scout Troop 608 from Rainbow Stars Service Unit in Sugar Land recently traveled to Europe with EF Educational Tours. While in Rome, the girls toured the Roman Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Vatican.
The Girl Scouts also visited Pompeii and toured the ruins of that ancient city as well as Florence, a city known for the birth of the Renaissance. Finally, the girls headed for Paris to tour the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre. On troop 608’s final night in Europe, the girls took a cruise on the River Seine. The girls earned money for the trip over a 3-year period with fundraisers including the New Territory Father Daughter Dance, Halloween Fun Night, garage sales and selling many Girl Scout cookies and Fall Products.
Scouts of San Jacinto and the Rainbow Stars Service Unit serve nearly 700 registered girls and adults in New Territory. Girl Scouts is a United Way Agency. Those interested in becoming a Girl Scout should contact Lisa Rickert at email@example.com.
