Jenny Birge is a Senior Group Manager for Research and Development at Frito-Lay. Her birthday is August 9th. In 2009 on her birthday she came up with the idea to give North Texas a birthday gift on her next birthday. That's how she created Project 8.9.10.

On 8/9/2010 she brought the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, Kroger and Frito-Lay together. Girl Scouts are donating 8 cans of food, 9 gently read books and their perfect 10 is a community service project of their own creation.

Project 8.9.10 runs until 8.23.10.

You're being asked to help too. You can drop off canned food for the North Texas Food Bank and children's books for the Kip Truth Academy in South Dallas at 1 of 7 Kroger stores:

Allen: 1320 W. McDermott Rd.
Dallas: 5665 E. Mockingbird Lane
Duncanville: 200 West Camp Wisdom Rd.
Lewsivile: 1305 S. State Hwy. 121
Irving: 7505 N. MacArthur Blvd.
Plano: 3305 Dallas Parkway
Rockwall: 2935 Ridge Road

Inside these Kroger stores you'll see big bins marked Project 8-9-10 ready to be filled with your contributions to help the Girl Scouts help Northeast Texans.
