Some local Girls Scouts from Rainbow Stars Service Unit Troop 744 took part in "Project Troop to Troop” this year, which encourages members of the community to buy packages of Girl Scout Cookies to donate to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are fighting overseas.
"Customers sponsor packages of Girl Scout Cookies that the troop sends to our men and women in uniform,” said Joyce Victory, leader of Troop 744.
"Through Project Troop to Troop, our customers get to support our service men and women and support their local Girl Scout Troop with each purchase.”
Troop 744 showed their support for the military by donating the boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to Houston Marine Moms.
From Thin Mints to Thanks-a-lots, girls in Troop 744 sold Girl Scout cookies to family, friends, and community members who then donated them to the U.S. Armed Forces.
"We wanted to help the military troops and helping can really be fun,” said Girl Scout Kathryn, with Troop 744.
Troop 744 said they will continue "Project Troop to Troop” and send more cookies to soldiers.
