Andy Rice, KPMX morning radio host, is a proud Girl Scout dad. Through Girl Scouts, his daughter is encouraged to believe in herself, develop positive values, enhance her life skills, practice teamwork and cooperation, and learn how to make the world a better place — starting in her own community. Pawnee Lodge, located in Sterling's Pioneer Park, is at the center of Girl Scouting in Northeast Colorado. It provides a meeting place for troops five to six times a week. It's also used for programmatic activities, day camp events and overnight camping experiences.
Andy will celebrate his 50th birthday on Tuesday, April 26. What is his birthday wish for 2011? He wants all of his listeners, men AND women, to "Man Up” for Pawnee Lodge and Girl Scouts! The estimated cost of repairing and restoring Pawnee Lodge is $37,930. We still need to raise $12,035 to meet that goal.
Man Up is an adults-only, come-as-you-are birthday bash and roast benefitting the Pawnee Lodge restoration effort. Join us at the Elks Lodge for great food, including Rocky Mountain Oysters prepared by the Merino Fire Department. This is an opportunity to learn more about Girl Scouts and Pawnee Lodge, enjoy some friendly roasting from community leaders, and partake in fun and conversation with friends.
Can we count on you to support this unique event? Please take a moment to review the sponsorship materials. By sponsoring this year's Man Up event, you will be supporting the restoration effort of Pawnee Lodge — a historic building and treasured home for Girl Scouts in Northeast Colorado. Your financial commitment will truly make a difference and your positive impact as a Girl Scouts supporter will be evident for many years to come!
